GitGig Terms of Service

Welcome to GitGig, the crypto bounty marketplace specifically designed for the development of open source software projects. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of GitGig’s website, services, and applications (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent and warrant that you are of legal age to form a binding contract with GitGig and meet all of the foregoing eligibility requirements. If you do not meet all of these requirements, you must not access or use the Services.

2. Accounts

To access some features of the Services, you must log in using your GitHub account. By using GitHub to log in, you authorize us to access certain information from your GitHub account for use by the Services. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your GitHub account and for all activities that occur under the account and any other actions taken in connection with it.

3. Use of Services

GitGig grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the Services. The Services are intended for both personal and commercial use, specifically in the development and enhancement of open source software projects.

4. Crypto Transactions

The Services allow users to create, post, accept, and fulfill bounties using cryptocurrency. You acknowledge that all transactions are final and non-refundable. GitGig is not responsible for the underlying technical aspects of any cryptocurrency transactions.

5. Content and Pull Requests

You retain all rights in, and are solely responsible for, the content you upload, post, email, transmit, or otherwise make available via the Services. However, by submitting content on the Services, you grant GitGig a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, copy, reproduce, process, adapt, modify, publish, transmit, display, and distribute such content in any and all media or distribution methods.

Maintainers agree to accurately link the pull requests that resolve the issues when claiming bounties. This ensures transparency and integrity in the completion of tasks.

6. Abandoned Bounties

Issuers agree that bounties that remain unclaimed or unresolved for an extended period may be swept by the platform if not retracted or renewed by the issuer. This policy helps maintain an active and engaging marketplace.

7. Prohibited Use

You agree not to use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in any way that interrupts, damages, impairs, or renders the Services less efficient. You shall not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Services, other accounts, computer systems or networks connected to any GitGig server.

8. Termination

GitGig may terminate or suspend your account and bar access to the Services immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever and without limitation, including but not limited to a breach of the Terms.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. GitGig expressly disclaims all warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including, but not limited to, the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

In no event will GitGig, nor its directors, employees, partners, agents, suppliers, or affiliates, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including without limitation, loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of or inability to access or use the Services.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GitGig and its licensee and licensors, and their employees, contractors, agents, officers, and directors, from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees), resulting from or arising out of a) your use and access of the Services, by you or any person using your account and password; b) a breach of these Terms, or c) Content posted on the Services.

12. Changes

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
